What Causes Poor Control Of Muscles On The Upper Lip?

Hi, I am 66 years old and I play the flute but slowly and surely I seem to be loosing control of the muscle structure of my upper lip, maybe both but I think only the upper. Speech is not affected that anyone can tell. This problem makes it almost impossible to make a proper ambusher to blow through.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of poor control of muscles on the upper lip which seems to be due to nerve irritation and nerve impingement in that area. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit oral pathologist/neurologist once and get it examined completely. You should take nerve stimulant and tablet neurobion. Go for facial muscle therapy and physical therapy as well. Avoid exposure to irritants and apply cold and warm compresses alternatively.
