What Causes Popping In Head While Suffering From Sinusitis?
I have had a sinus headache and drainage for several days. Starting netty pot with saline solution today and found first relief. Then when I blew my nose, softly, I head a loud pop. nothing followed. what could this be? I am a female, 70, and in excellent health except for recurring sinus problems
I can understand your concern. This loud pop on nose blowing is due to sudden opening of sinus opening. Nose blowing removes infected nasal mucus which is blocking the opening. As sinus opening establishes again, it leads to circulation of fast air through it which leads to turbulence in air and sound production. This sound echoes in sinus and gives sound.
You can also feel relief after it. to enhance relief, you can : inhale steam 4 to 5 times daily : avoid cold objects : take hot or warm beverages : take combination of cetrizine-baracetamol-xylometazoline after proper prescription. It will relieve sinus opening edema and thus opens it. : take antibiotic therapy like Co-amoxyclav after proper prescription.
