Hi and welcome to HCM..
I congratulate on your
pregnancy and I'm here to help you out..
I thank you for posting your query here...
I being a surgeon, we encounter so many such cases..
I read your question completely and have understood it well enough..
Well, we see so many cases of such kind, and that happens especially during pregnancy.
Please note the following few facts..
1. In pregnancy, the normal physiology gets altered. Well, you might be knowing that many people tell that pregnancy is a re birth to women. And rightly said..
2. The vein you noticed, could very well be something called Varicose Vein!
In pregnancy, there's pressure on the IVC,
inferior vena cava.
This results in development of
varicose veins.
Suggest you not to worry, because let's confirm the diagnosis first.
Please get this test done.
A. Venous doppler of left lower limb to see for varicose veins and incompetent perforators.
This is the gold standard investigation used.
3. Also, would like to tell you that there are more chances of complications like DVT,
deep vein thrombosis..
4. Anyway, now please do not worry. Take care of your pregnancy and let's investigate on this new problem of yours.
In case you need any further assistance, please let me know..
Hope this helps you..
Take care and God bless you .
