What Causes Popping Sensation In Knee?

I was doing something in my house and my left knee seemed to pop out of socket going toward the inside of my leg. Now when I walk my knee keeps popping out so I put on a knee brace and am using a walker. This just happened about an hour ago. What could it be? (doesn t hurt)
