What Causes Popping Sound Behind The Knee Followed By Mild Pain?

Began an exercise class today,(step class), and within five minutes, I felt something pop or tear behind my left knee. I then left, came home and began icing and taking Advil. Don t know what happened. No pain when lying down, seems to hurt a bit when I walk around or go down stairs.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, knee joint is very fragile one and highly vulnerable to injury and most delicate part is meniscus and it has to be looked for tear as long as the history is concern and better to get done the MRI of knee joint hope this information helps.
