What Causes Positive Home Pregnancy Test Result And Negative Urine Test Result?

Took two different home pregnancy tests 3 days and 2 days before expected period. All came back positive. Went to the doctor day before expected period and urine test shows negative. Waiting on blood test in the next few days but, my question is if home pregnancy test show positive before doctor s negative urine test, does that mean chemical pregnancy?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

No, there is nothing like a chemical pregnancy. Usually, the first-morning sample of urine is employed for pregnancy testing. Now repeat test after a week. Otherwise, the final diagnosis is by ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Varinder Joshi, General & Family Physician
