What Causes Positive Test Results For Syphilis Despite Taking Doxycycline?
I have been diagnosed with syphillis and was for two weeks, twice a day on doxycyline. A week after I finished taking doxy I went for another blood test and it still shows positive. Did the antibiotics not work or for how long should I wait to be tested again?

Which test was done after completing treatment? The antibody test will be positive for long after treatment, while antigen tests will be negative much before. TPHA test is good to look for resolution, while VDRL may not be negative soon, although the titres will show progressive decline.
