What Causes Post Nasal Drip Followed By Chronic Cough During Nights?
I have vasomotor rhinitis. At night, I have a good bit of post nasal drip that causes coughing. If the coughing gets prolonged and My gag reflex is triggered and I vomit. The vomit is usually bile or a slimy substance I assume is the phlegm. I take Zyrtec daily and use fluticasone spray twice daily. Are there better ways to prevent this?

Persistent post nasal drip indicates increased mucous production. Common causes may be allergy, sinus infection, nasal polyp, rhinitis and deviated nasal septum. Throat irritation may be due regurgitation of stomach contents.
Advice
1. Continue fluticasone spyay as suggested
2. Levocetirizine 5 mg daily per oral for 5 days
3. Cefixime 100 mg every 12 hours per oral for 5 days
4. Omeprazole 20 mg daily empty stomach per oral for 15 days
5. Do not eat heavily at a time. Eat smaller meals
6. Do not lie down immediately after meal
7. Avoid dust, smoking, alcohol, dry environment and spicy food
8. Avoid coffee and tea after meal
9. Investigation – X – ray PNS
