What Causes Post Nasal Drip Post A Septoplasty?

After having septoplasty and enlarged turbinates surgery a year ago I have post nasal drip if I eat spicy food or if I m just working out at the gym. It is much worst than it has ever been and I constantly carry Kleenex with me. Is this normal? One of the major reasons I wanted the surgery was sinus infections but also to stop having post nasal drip.

Hello,

Deviated septum and sinus infections are common causes of post-nasal drip. You have already undergone septoplasty. Spicy foods are also attributed to post-nasal drip.

Avoid exposure to cold. Nasal decongestants (OTC) drop helps. If you have a perennial allergy, mometasone nasal spray once a day may help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
