1. As your age cannot be deduced by the case history alone thus following is my opinion:
i. subclinical or
asymptomatic bacteriuria is common in certain age groups and has different concept/meaning.
ii. It will be better to
consult a Urologist or for
second opinion since for better understanding-management-prognosis, it is compulsory to know the possible site of infection [urethral], whether the infection is uncomplicated or complicated, is it re-infection/relapse, or treatment failure and its pathogenesis and risk factors.
iii. S.aureus is the commonest and most important gram positive hospital acquired organism and is cause of UTI among patients with
urinary tract catheterization and relatively an uncommon cause of UTI is general population.
PS. It could be possible prostatitis [if you are male] and treatment will vary anywhere between 6-12 months and your Urologist might ask for Urinary tract imaging like:
ultrasonography, CT,IVU, voiding cystourethrography, retrograde urethrography, or cystoscopy.
