Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pressure And Discomfort Above The Abdomen After Food Intake?
I have had pressure and discomfort in the area directly above my navel and just below it. It started about 2 wks ago and seems to occur mainly in the evenings about 3 hrs after eating. I started a fiber supplement for the past 5 days and it is getting better, but I still feel some pressure now a little to the right side a few inches below my ribs. My primary doc thinks it could be constipation, but I am having 2 BMs a day, but not large ones. I have no fever and my energy is good. I am not taking any medications and I am a 60 yr old female. Could it be my pancreas or something more serious? I am a non-smoker and do not drink.
It's better if once USG is done, it can rule out any severity if there is. Yes, take healthy food like fruits, juices, steamed vegetables, amla, aloe vera, basil. Antacid can be taken for a few days and ECG can be done too.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
