What Causes Pressure And Discomfort In The Upper Chest And Arms?
I am 72 and have no major issues that I am aware of. I like to walk 5 miles but I often get a feeling of pressure or discomfort in my upper chest and upper arms. It s not painful but it is worry some. I am not overweight and not diabetic. Blood press is usually around 140/ 75. This issue is not always present. What s up?

Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. It is better to take an ECG to rule out cardiac cause of chest pain. Better to undergo stress test if you getting any discomfort on exertion also. If that is clear then it can be most likely due to gastritis or musculoskeletal pain. In that case you can take proton pump inhibitors like esomeprazole ( Nexium ) or h2 blockers like Ranitidine ( zantac ).
