Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
When I was thirteen 20 years ago my ears started to hurt and have pressure. I went to a dozen ent drs they could not diagnose it. Then I went to a oral surgeon he said it was not tmj but my over bite . I spent eleven thousand dollars to have my wisdom teeth removed and braces put on. When they were off I still had the pain and pressure . I gave up. Now 20 years later the pain is so bad and fluid pressure popping and both bleed sometimes. Are there any new studies now that may know what it is and help me? I don t want to go through Dr again to be disappointed.
Well if there is bleeding and pain with popping then it can be clogged Eustachian tubes, probably due to fluid accumulation behind the eardrum and blocked eustachian tube. I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist or an ENT Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like X-ray, MRI, otoscopy, etc., can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. You can be advised a course of antibiotics, oral as well as nasal decongestants like Xylometazoline nasal sprays. Along with it steam inhalation and chewing chewing gum can help. In case of no improvement in 15 days surgical drainage by making a small incision through the eardrum can help.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Honey Arora
