Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a 53 year old male who s generally been a lean man, but has put on weight through the years, but still have an athletic look, even thought I don t do much more than play golf and run up and down the stairs at work. I ve noticed that I seem to carry my excess weight in my upper torso, not in the belly area. I feel like I have some pressure below my sternum area when I bend over to put socks on or tie my shoes. It s not a sharp pain, but makes me feel like my full . While I know I need to begin to excercise, is there something that I should be concerned with regarding this feeling in my upper abdomen?

What Causes Pressure Below The Sternum?
Hello, It could be a simple musculoskeletal pain. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopedician and get evaluated. Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
