Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I had what felt like a punch left of the xiphoid and then a strong deep penetrating pressure sensation in my chest that went up to the level of my neck and held there for (I know of at least 4 min) then somewhat became less intense. I wanted to call 911 but couldn t get anyones attention and once the pressure began to lessen I felt like I should just avoid the thought because it seemed to be going away. Next day I had the pressure begin again when climbing the stairs or ramps that left me feel out of breath. A partial pressure just never seemed to go away from the day before. That night I took an asprin and decided to go in for a check up in the morning. In the ER - Two separate EKG s demonstrated a Septal infarct (no age?) No one mentioned the EKG findings directly to me; I overheard their finding and a 2nd one was done to confirm the 1st reading, however the 2nd showed the same. Blood enzymes showed nothing. Nitro patch was placed and eventually the pressure went away. CT showed ascending aorta is 3.5. I was admitted- Cardiologist was in surgery. A chemical stress test was administered. Enzymes still showed nothing. My Dr was out of town, I was told to make a follow up appointment with him . I feel like I didn t get any real answers to the the other tests. Told to continue on until I speak with my Dr.; who won t be back for 2 weeks. So my question is what area of the septum could this infarct occur, should I be concerned about the 3.5 aorta and are there more tests I should be expecting to have done to explain that initial sudden hair raising pressure I had in my chest? It s difficult not to feel a bit of fear here.
