What Causes Pressure In Chest Causing The Need To Take Deep Breaths?

I frequently feel like I need to take a deep breath and that I have slight pressure on my chest. My heart and lungs have been tested with no concerns and lung capacity is normal. My doctor prescribed anti-anxiety meds and they do help but I don t feel like anxiety is my problem. Sorry, I can t afford any more medical expenses. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be related to many medical conditions. If cardiac issue and lung issues has been excluded, other possible causes can be:
- Anxiety
- Gastroesophagela reflux disease
I suggest to try taking antacids and see if you have improvements.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
