Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I get a very odd ear pressure , not popping, like on an airplane. but it s more like if you hold your hand over your ear then lift it off your ear many times in succession. Very strange... Normally it repeats about 5 times in both ears, no pain. And only a few times a day.
You are suffering from odd ear pressure many times in succession, it is repeating after 5 minutes in both the ears. It is commonly caused due to change in altitude, when altitude changes rapidly eustachian tubes may not have time to adapt and can become blocked. It gets relieved after some time.
It can also be due to sinusitis, the swelling and pressure can cause you to feel fullness or pain in your ears. Getting treated for sinusitis will help to reduce the symptoms. Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are wax in the ears, infection (AOM/CSOM) etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT, get required tests and investigations done. Get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
