What Causes Pressure In Head And Dizzy Spells After Taking Steroids?

Hi. Last week I was getting chest pain, went to the doctor, they did a CT scan and nothing was there so the doctor put me on steroids for inflamed lungs. I just stopped taking the medication four days ago and since then I have had pressure in my head on the top and in the temples. It doesn t hurt, it is just pressure and I keep having dizzy spells. What do you suggest I do? I have also been having body aches in my back and arms these past two days. My chest will also still hurt every once in a while and I will become short of breath.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Pressure in head with dizzy spells indicate possible over dose of corticosteroids medication. Maintain hydration with more liquids and discuss the dose adjustment with your treating doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
