What Causes Pressure In Head And Redness On Face After Bending Down?

Quite often, particularly when bending over, I feel intense head pressure; when I straighten up, my face is beat red. Twice in the last month, this feeling was accompanied by a bloody nose while doing pushups; but more recently it occurred during yard work. Any ideas? My blood pressure is controlled by the way, but I am diabetic.

Hello,

Pressure in the head and redness on the face particularly on bending down may be a blood pressure issue that is triggered due to alcohol consumption. Restrict your alcohol intake and keep your blood pressure under control at all cost. Get T3, T4, TSH detected. Increased blood flow that causes warmth and redness in the face occurs when there is too much thyroid hormone (hyperthyroidism) in the body.

For this you need to see an endocrinologist who will treat with medication to lower the quantity of thyroid hormone. Your symptoms could be indicative of rosacea, with rosacea, blood vessels are overreactive, and the skin is often hyper-irritable. Thus causing a blush or flush.

Get clinically examined, if rosacea is detected, it will be treated with topical and oral medicines, as well as laser treatments that target visible blood vessels. Spider veins elated to rosacea can make blood vessels dilate and expand. Aging can also be linked to spider veins.

Use sunscreen to avoid sun damage on your face as it also reduces the risk of spider veins. Your treatment will depend on the pathology causing symptoms is detected, get treated at the earliest. Avoid taking alcohol, spicy food, and caffeine.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
