What Causes Pressure In Rectum And Vagina When Diagnosed With Scoliosis?

Hello- I have been experiencing pressure type feelings both in rectum and vagina area. Some symptoms that feel like I have a UTI. I feel like I have to urinate but hardly anything comes out. I have had my urine checked and nothing is showing up. When it happens I get the chills and I feel feverish. I also become pale. I feel like I have to sit down to relieve this. I had a colonoscopy which was ok except for some pockets they said was normal for my age (57). There seems to be no pattern when this happens. I do have scoliosis if that is important to know. This has been going on for over a year.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

Scoliosis can put some amount of pressure on internal organs that lie anteriorly to it. In your case the bowel and urinary bladder may be getting stimulated due to the curve in your spine. Speak to your doctor regarding the same, and get a lateral view of an imaging study to confirm/rule out this plausible theory.

Best wishes.
