What Causes Pressure In Right Ear, Jaw Point And Muscle Strain?

So I recently went to a concert and well ya know sang along really loudly and practically shouted along with the singers. Now it is the next day, and I feel a pressure on my right ear and jaw point where it meets. I also can't eat hot food as it hurts and makes it feel more pronounced I guess and it feels swollen on that part. I was wondering if it's possible to strain the muscles there or what? And if it'd need me to visit the emergency room as it does feel swollen and is putting a constant pressure on my ear. Or if not what could I do to fix it?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pressure in right ear, jaw point and muscle strain which could be due to swollen lymph nodes, due to nerve disturbance i.e vestibulocochlear nerve is getting affected with neuropathy and could be due to TMJ dysfunctioning, ear infection, lymphadenopathy and cervical spondylosis .

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to avoid bending forward and touching or pricking ear with sharp object. Do mouth stretching exercises and consult ENT specialist for proper examination and to rule out other causes. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin at least for a week and neuron forte and anti inflammatory medications. Doctor may prescribe mouth guard. You should try to keep ear dry and start doing yoga and meditation.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
