What Causes Pressure In The Chest And Breathing Difficulty?

Sorry, we are out of town in a large hotel in Branson on the hotel WIFI. I don t feel safe giving my credit card out in this location. I will try back at a different place and time. My wife has pressure feeling on chest, feels like someone is sitting on chest or squeezing her chest, it is hard for her to breathe. We went to the ER 3 days ago. They checked her heart and they checked for an embolism. They ran some blood tests too but not sure what they were. They said she checked out fine and released her. The next day she saw her primary Dr. He said she has chemical asthma. She works in a hair salon and breathes hair spray some. SHe has never smoked. She grew up in a house where her mother and dad smoked. She has been out of that house for about 32 years. They did Xray her lungs and said they were clear. It seems that it is getting increasingly harder for her to breath, It s almost like a person who is having an anxiety attack. You would think the way she is breathing she would hyperventilate. She is very agitated and I think scared.

Hi,

Your doctor is right. Your wife has asthma probably because of constant inhaling of chemicals. You should take her to a physician who will prescribe her a short acting beta blocker for quick relief of symptoms and a longer acting one too.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
