What Causes Pressure In The Chest And Cough While Sleeping?

I cough (only at night) and i sleep on my sides, but when I sleep on my left side there is a heaviness in my chest, feels like lead or a cement block and some breathing restrictions in my throat. this has been going for about 3-4 weeks. I have been drinking ginger, honey and lime with very little relief. Today was the first day I experienced the heaviness in my chest and this weird feeling on either side of my throat (neck area). I am a non-smoker. Should I see a doctor and perhaps get an x-ray done?

you should definitely see a doctor and get some investigations done including chest xray, ECG and maybe echocardiography too. mostly cardiac issues are more related to posture of lying down. but pulmonary (lung) diseases needs to be ruled out first as you have history of smoking.
