What Causes Pressure In The Chest And Shortness Of Breath?

Hello, I am 42 year old woman 5 4 180lbs who recently is experiencing more than usual fatigue but can not sleep. When I lye down to go to sleep my heart feels as if it is pounding so hard it will leap out of my chest. My chest feels heavy, but I have no pain or shortness of breath. I have always been in good health. Any suggestions?

Hi There

After going through your query I understand your concern.

I would like to tell you that breathing difficulties with chest discomfort commonly can be due to underlying heart disease or lung pathology that requires proper evaluation for proper timely management.

Kindly get an ECG, echocardiography and chest x-ray done and consult a Physician for physical and diagnostic evaluation and management.

Hope to have been helpful.

Kind Regards
Dr. Navneet Bansal
