What Causes Pressure In The Chest While Suffering From Constipation?

Constipation I consider retarded bowels or blocked bowels leading to compaction and/or painful holding of gas. In my case it is the gas that is the problem. I believe the location is below the lungs, just. I also believe this problem is related to blockage of the stomach. The problem keeps me awake. It seems stronger when idle/sitting. It also seems, sometimes, to be so strong as to pressure the lungs. I ve tried coffee (if anything this makes things worse - given up coffee for moment). vegetabe oil (sometimes ithelps, sometimes not). baking soda (the most successfull in my several bouts of this problem - this time it isn t helping).

Hello,

It could be due to air trapping while straining.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and get evaluated,

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
