What Causes Pressure In The Ear Despite Using Sudafed And Flonase?
I have pressure in my left ear, but not all of the time. It usually occurs when I m dealing with allergies/sinus congetion. I went to my doctor and was told to take sudafed and flonase. That relieves the symptoms for a while, but then it comes back. I want to know if I should see an ENT specialist.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Surely, yes. See the ENT Specialist as there is nasal congestion with allergies. Since the allergies are recurrent as they will occur whenever you come in contact with the allergens that cause you the symptoms. There are secondary effects too like sinusitis, ear problems, throat and eyes allergies as well as asthma can occur, it is better to get a proper clinical evaluation, examination and investigations like ENT Endoscopy, CT scan of the nose and sinuses to see for secondary problems and get operated if indicated. Continue Sudafed and Flonase but you may need a short course of oral steroids in tapering dosages.
