Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pressure In The Head While On Lisinipril For High Blood Pressure?
I have high blood pressure and take lisinipril 20mg and hydrochlorot 25mg. I ve been taking my lisinipril but not the hyydrclorot . Well all day today my head has felt as if my brain is floating in water and every move feels like it s going to explode. Could it be me missing my hydrochlorot or am I just in a lot of stress which is causing me to have pressure? What should I do?
Very likely the headache is not related to the blood pressure or lack of using hydrochlorthiazide. Other causes should be considered especially because it is only today that you have had the pain. Taking some paracetamol and ibuprofen might be helpful in your case.
On the other hand, I would recommend you to have a check of your blood pressure first. If your blood pressure is within normal limits or mildly elevated, it is unlikely that your headache is related to not taking hydrochlorthiazie.
If your blood pressure exceeds 160/110, you will have to consider the high blood pressure as a cause and you will need to have a visit with your doctor.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
