Hi, thanks for using health care magic.
What first comes to mind when my patients complain of a bulge in the epigastric region is an
epigastric hernia. A physical examination finding to fortify this diagnosis is if the bulge grows bigger when you
cough, have a bowel movement, or any other movement that strains your abdomen.
However because of a little possibility of the bulge being a cyst or
lipoma, a key thing is to rule these out by way of
ultrasound scanning.
An epigastric hernia would need repair of the muscular area through which the herniation occurs. This would be carried out by a
general surgeon, a doctor who surgically treats diseases of the abdominal organs.
Please get a referral to a general surgeon to begin the process of management.
I hope i have answered your question.
Best wishes.
