What Causes Pressure In The Uterus After Intercourse?

Everytime my husband and I have sex and he finishes off inside me I always have this heavy feeling in my uterus the day after. It s kind of annoying. I m not on bc and we don t use anything. We re not trying to get pregnant but we re also not avoiding it either. I ve been off my bc since last September but I also have a thyroid condition that I m medicated for. I was just wondering if this feeling is normal or if something else is going on and that s why we have conceived yet.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It may be because the pressure exerted on the cervix is gradually transmitted to uterus and causes pain. Other possibility is that the prostaglandins contained in the sperm cause uterine irritation and cramps.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Mefenamic Acid (Meftal) for pain relief. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
