What Causes Pressure Under The Ribs After Removal Of The Gall Bladder?
I have a feeling of pressure under my right ribs. I have had a cat span within the last six weeks with nothing showing up. I had my gall bladder removed two years ago and breast cancer 5 years ago in the right breast plus had radiation. The pressure radiates around to the right side. What could be causing this feeling?

Emergency Medicine Specialist, Dr. Tim Evans's Response
The fact that you have had a recent CT scan is reassuring, given that you had previous breast cancer and radiotherapy. You may well be experiencing pain as a side-effect from the radiotherapy. It would be prudent to undergo some blood and urine tests to exclude other inflammatory disorders such as pancreatitis or kidney/urinary pathology. Did these symptoms start after your CT scan or before it? If they started after your scan, then you will need to consider whether this is due to a blood clot in the lung (pulmonary embolism). It would be important to discuss this concern with your physician so that they can safely exclude this as a possible cause.
