What Causes Pricking Sensation In Chest And Back Pain Post Heart Surgery?
nine years ago I had a heart attack but have no stents etc I had a major surgery one month ago and since then have had pin prick sensations all over my chest and back plus a feeling of pain in the centre of my back ! By the end of a day I cannot even stand the tightness of wearing my bras. I seem to have stomach gas and burp a lot - very uncommon for me! Rest seems to help but this feeling is happening almost all the time now

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pricking sensation in chest and back pain post heart surgery. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like lifting something heavy , poor posture , being overweight , smoking or trigger points of trapezius muscle . I would suggest you to avoid lifting heavy weight , apply warm compresses , take proper rest , do light trapezius stretching and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . The symptoms can also occur due to acid reflux and post surgery complication so consult cardiologist also and discuss the condition .If condition doesn't get better then consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order x-ray or CT scan and physical examination . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory and physical therapy and light stretching .
