Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Profuse Sweating Along With Rapid Heart Rate And Pounding Headache?
Hi - I exercise on daily basis. Today, I did my normal routine and took my vitamins that I take everyday. I did notice I was sweating more than normally. I showered and when I got back to work, I noticed that I couldn t see well. My head has been pounding and mostly my left side. My eyes behind my eyeballs are really hurting. I wear a fit bit and normally when I m at my desk, I am at a 63 heart rate. I just checked it and I am at 89, so my heart rate is faster than normal too. I am only 34 years old and do not know what is going on but I am worried. Any suggestions as to what I should do would help me greatly. Thank you - Erica
Due to excessive heat, you may have lost plenty of electrolytes through sweat, leading to hypokalemia or hyponatremia, that again causes vomiting and exhaustion. I think you may be suffering from heat exhaustion.
Keep in air-conditioning rooms. Drink plenty of liquids, coconut water, ORS solutions etc. Check for blood pressure, check for core body temperature etc. If symptoms do not improve, get an IV line secured. If symptoms don't improve, please consult your doctor. He will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
