What Causes Profuse Sweating And Loss Of Movement?

My daughter experienced a feeling like she was underwater. She could not move as if temporarily immobilized and instantly became drenched in sweat. This lasted about 10-15 minutes. Once it passed, she was fine and had no side effects after. This has happened only one time. Any thoughts on what this could be or what might have caused it.

Hi,

How old is she? What was she doing then? Was it associated with loss of consciousness/unresponsiveness/fall?

Any jerky movements of limbs, clenching of teeth or frothing from mouth(suggest seizure)?

This can suggest either a syncope(have a dizzy or lightheaded feeling with no jerky movement) or a seizure activity. If syncope, you need not worry unless it is recurring- just ensure adequate fluid intake.

If you feel it was a seizure, kindly discuss with your doctor for evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
