What Causes Progressive Speech Slurring?

my grandmother started witnissing progressive slurring of speech about a year ago and now she cannot pronounce words, there are no other signs of weeknesses . her tounge shows a kind of pitting. ? we are realy worried as we dont know what the diagnosis is, even the doctors are not sure.

usually for nor normal speech lips,tongue,tooth,palate,larynx(voice box),and lungs should be normal.as age advances due to laxity of tissues one can have slurring of speech.if its severe she should be evaluated by ct scan brain-any clot,video endoscopy-for voice box lesions.visit an ent surgeon for eavaluation.
