What Causes Prolonged Chronic Diarrhea?

Hello. My name is Sarah. I m 42 years old. I m 5 4 and weigh 115 lbs. I ve had chronic diarrhea for over a month. I ve had all the tests to check if anything is wrong. I ve had an upper and lower GI and they can t find any cause. I had a HIDA scan for my gall bladder and it came back ok. Is it possible my gall bladder is bad and they can t see it? Or could Botox injection for migraines cause chronic diarrhea?

Hi,

Since most of the workup is unremarkable and with your history, ceoliac serology and stool analysis and cultures are recommended.

Pancreatic enzymatic assay and workup for malabsorption syndromes should be done. Chronic diarrhea in your case is less likely due to Botox.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.

Regards,
