What Causes Prolonged Delay In Periods After Removal Of Ovarian Cyst?

I have never had a normal period, it has been irregular and very light never bled more than 2 oz a day, so itwas more of spotting. Anyways I had a large cyst removed from my ovary, after surgery my period was the same, irregular and light. Then all of the sudden I stopped getting my period in September of 2015 maybe even the month before, I know that I m not pregnant, I am on birth control due to a hormone defficiancy that was discovered from blood drawn, and I am not showing nor do I have any symptoms and I have not had any symptoms of pregnancy I m just curious as to why I don t get a period? Any ideas?

Hello,

Since you have history of hormonal imbalance and are on CP, it can be a cause for delayed periods. Delayed periods (or not having periods at all) commonly occur in women on IUD, injected or implanted. Some medications also delay or stop periods like antidepressants, allergy medications, etc).

Stress, low weight, excessive exercise and medical conditions like thyroid issues and PCOS, eating disorders may cause delayed periods. You are suggested to stay away from stress and addictions if any. Take home made nutritious food rich in protein, iron, calcium and minerals. Take adequate sleep & rest. Get clinically examined by a GP, get all required blood and imaging tests done. Get the pathology detected at the earliest. Get treated.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
