Hi good day doctor!Kindly enlighten me regarding my query regarding my monthly period. I gave birth last Nov 26, 2014 via C-section . I did a mixture of breastfeeding and formula. My period was back for the first tym last Apr 27, 2015 but until now my period has not yet return. I am sure I am not pregnant since my husband is away. Is it normal?Thank you!
It is not normal to have delayed period after having a period following the childbirth. Apart from pregnancyamenorrhea (delayed period) could be due to stress, emotional disturbance, change of job or place, any medical illness, hormonal imbalance, hormonal disorders such as diseases of the ovary, hyperprolactinemia or hypothyroidism. Advised to consult your doctor to rule out those condition and to induce period.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
