What Causes Prolonged Difficulty In Breathing And Tighening Of Chest?

Hi. =( Last month i have been experiencing difficulty in breathing and tightening of chest which has been happening everyday even with my regular medication. I have flovent 250mcg (once in the morning, 1 before i go to sleep), another rescue puffer 100mcg ( which even if i use, i don t feel any relief) and montelukast 10mg once a day. I have had asthma ever since I was a kid but this has been the worst so far. Last yr i don t recall using any inhaler, it felt like i don t have asthma. But this yr since May, it has been really bad. This is the worst part, last may when i went to see a doctor, he just made me inhale- exhale then told me my breathing is fine then prescribed the 100 mcg puffer, after 3 days i went back because it doesn t work, then i was prescribed flovent 250mcg. I thought it will be okay but still after 2 weeks i have to go back because nothing has changed in my situation, i was prescribed montelukast 10mg to add to my flovent. And unto this day it just keeps getting worse. This thursday, i plan on seeing another doctor. I m scared. i don t know what i should do.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are generalised symptoms with asthma but you must get a cardiac evaluation done to rule out if any cardiac underlying disease is there.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
