What Causes Prolonged Fever Along With Appetite Loss?
Hello, my granddaughter age 5 has had a fever for over 10 days now. Goes down with motrin or tylenol, but comes back when dose wears off. Checked for strep at day3 and it was negative. Checked for uti, at day 7 and it was clear. CBC at day 7 normal. Chest xray at day 7 shows a little cloudiness in chest, but she has no other symptoms. no cough or runny nose. Just no appetite and no energy. fever was initially at 103-104, now runs at 101-103.

cause of fever to be diagnosed it can be uti malaria or viral fever treatment can be started accordingly. it can also be typhoid or paratyphoid or tubercular like primary complex consult pulmunologist for opinion on xray finding clinical examination of lung fields can be done.
