Hi I am a pharmacist.I have one doubt. My friend have pain in left ear since last 2 weeks.he told to me that he felt some small wound in ear but not a open wound. No pus come out from ear.he consulted ENT doctor.he gave deco 10 ear drop he use this prolonged period. But now itself he have a pain.what can I suggested? I suggest candibiotic ear drop?
The lump your friend is having in his left ear since last 2 weeks is suggestive for possible infection. If the lump is located in the external ear, then, most probable cause could be fungal and bacterial infection.
Deco 10 ear drop contains a mixture of dexamethasone (steroid anti-inflammatory medication) and chloramphenicol (broad spectrum antibiotic). You can also use an anti-fungal ear drop; however, to my opinion, he needs oral therapy along with topical treatment.
In such cases, ketoconazole orally together with chlarythromycin can also help. Discuss this further with his doctor! Wish fast recovery! Dr.Albana
