Hi.I am 24 and facing a problem of prolonged periods. I have been to physician and he prescribed me a birth control pill. after taking those pill my period last for same as before. I am facing a problem of painful period and my blood flow is same everyday dark red
I understand your concern. Your symptoms could be due to pelvic inflammatory disorder, ademomyosis, endometriosis, and hormonal imbalance. I would suggest to consult gynecologist and undergo vaginal examination, USG scan, reproductive hormone analysis to confirm the cause.
Bleeding can be reduced by tranexemic acid. Other treatment will depend on specific cause. Avoid stress, take healthy diet with iron supplements, drink plenty of water, do regular exercise and maintain proper pelvic hygiene.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best regards, Dr. Sagar
