What Causes Prolonged Periods Despite Taking Tranostat And Cefixime?
Hi....I ve been having a period for Like 15days and it s still coming now. And I even went for check up..the doctor did some blood test n ultrasound which was normal except than my Haemoglobin count.and the doctor gave me tranostat and cefixime tablets. And yes my period is in a brown shade and it s still coming so should be worried about it!?
Usual cases of high menses flow relate to hormone imbalance through a variety of reasons as stress, adenomyosis, uterine fibroids or others. The trenaxemic acid (Tranostat) is a coagulant which helps to control the bleeders in various conditions. The cefixime is an antibiotic of cephalosporin group and control infection , not the bleeding.
In my clinic, I do recommend an immediate intake of hormone preparations as Primolut N for 3-5 days, which immediately control the menses flow. Simultaneously, I also suggest to get follow up after a week to start rest of the medications to regularise the amount of bleeding and as well as treatment of anemia with tablets and high iron diet advise.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
