Hi i got the implanon inserted 4 weeks ago and ive had my period for 3 weeks straight. this is the 2nd time ive had the implanon and this is the first time ive had my period this long. Its only ever lasted a week. Even when i was on my first implanon but now im noticing that the bleeding had turned abit brown and theres always small amounts of blood clots. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, Implanon is associated with unpredictable bleeding patterns. Hormonal changes commonly cause prolonged period, irregular periods or spotting when on Implanon for the first three months. Later as the system gets adjusted the side effects get reduced. If you have discomforts you should get examined by your OBGYN.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
