hi I am 40 yrs old and my period has lasted 23 days and counting this time. I work for a doctors office and the FNP prescribed me a 10mg hormone to stop it but it hasn t worked yet...what could be causing this and what should I do? I feel extremely weak at this point....
You should get further evaluated doing at least an ultrasound and hormone levels. There can be different causes about prolonged period and this needs to be evaluated. It can be myoma, endometrial hyperplasia, or hormonal issues.
