What Causes Prolonged Severe Pain In Arch And Toes?
For about a year now I have been having alot of pain in my arches. Recently my arch will involuntarily begin to cramp and draw my foot and toes forward. My toes will stiffen and spread and I can t control it. This also happens if I point my toes, or pull my leg up under me to sit if my foot isn t positioned exactly right.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I understand your concern. YOur problem can be due to- - Local tetanae/ cramps due to calcium defeciency( need calcium replacement as per physician's advise ) - Tarsal tunnel syndrome/ disc problem in lumber spine.. this causes pressure on nerve supplying the part & lead to the symptoms ( confirmation is br X ray/ ct scan/ MRI of spine/ foot) Diagnosis & treatment under guidance of an orthopedic surgeon.( Medicines/ physiotherapy/ surgery ) thanks.
