What Causes Prolonged Swelling At The Base Of Neck?

I have had a bulge for the longest time right at the base of my neck on my collar bone. I have been to the doctor for a thyroid issue and regular check ups and no one has noticed it or showed any concern. I just noticed that it is getting bigger. It is not tender at all. It is shaped like a V with a bulge on the left of it. Should I be concerned?

Hi, swelling at base of neck which is getting bigger is a cause of concern. Probable causes could be thyroid disease, infection, carcinoma of neck and lymph node swelling. You need to do cbc with esr, crp levels, thyroid profile and most importantly fnac of the swelling. This will help in confirmation of diagnosis. Revert back with above reports. Take care.
