What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding After Having Depo Injection?
Hi, I came on my period the beginning of April then a couple days later I got the depo injection. For the first month I didn t get a period then on May 19th I started bleeding and been bleeding ever since. I called my doctor about 2 weeks ago and she gave me (lo estrogen packet) with iron pills Gildess Fe to be exact and I ve been on it for about a week and 4 days and bleeding has yet to stop. I would be due for another depo shot between June 22nd-July 6th that would of been my second depo shot but I didn t get it and don t plan on getting it. What should I do ? I m so miserable and this bleeding hasn t stopped
Slight menstrual irregularities and abnormal bleeding can be seen with hormonal preparations like depo.
As a first-line management drugs like tranexa can be given to control bleeding. If symptoms persist better to consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.
