What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding After Using Cytotec?

Its seven days and am still bleeding (not much though) and having slight cramps after taking cytotec(four pills inserted into my vigina only)I had heavy bleeding some hours after inserting, wit a very big clot...my problem is I av pains especially wen I wear belts or tight jean on my stomach... Is d abortion complete nd are my safe.???

Hello dear
I understand your concern

Normally abortion process will complete in 3-5 days after taking the cytotec pill.
Bleeding till up to 7 days after taking cytotec is not normal
It could be due to incomplete abortion/retain product and infections.
I would suggests to consult the gynecologist and undergo USG scan and vaginal examination.
Retain product can be terminated by the extra dose of misoprostol or by D & C.
Infection is treated by the antibiotic
Take meftal spas for pain and proper rest
Take healthy diet with iron supplements and maintain proper pelvic hygiene.
