What Causes Prolonged Vaginal Bleeding And Abdominal Cramps Post A D&C?

Hi, I got a d&c procedure on Aug 25, 2017. (I am 6weeks and 2 days pregnant.) I start bleeding on the 3rd day after the abortion and last for around 10 days. I got Brown discharge spotting after that but not much, just a drop or 2. Then, on Sept 13, 2017 at the evening I start to have some dark brown discharge and following with a lot of red blood clot. And I also have cramping on my abdomen. It is so pain that I never encounter before. I went to A&E that midnight. Dr prescribe me transamin 250mg and pain killer. That night the bleeding is not so much till now it bleed not much too. I went to the gyne next day to make sure everything is fine. He do an ultrasound on my tummy and say there is nothing in my uterus. But to play safe he do a blood test to check my beta-hcg. Result come back to me and claim that my hcg level is 690 IU/L. Then the gyne do another vaginal scan to confirm everything is clear. He claims that there is nothing in the uterus. No left over and not ectopic pregnancy but he say might be molar pregnancy. I do ask him could that be possible. He say maybe the molar is too small hence the ultrasound are not able to detect it. My 1st question is the molar will grow together with my pregnancy, right? If yes, the molar should be 9 weeks now...why the ultrasound unable to detect it. 2nd question, is my hcg level normal? 3rd question, why am i still bleeding and having the cramp pain. Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Excessive hair loss if you do not have a skin condition, is secondary. So have a blood count check for anemia. Stress may also trigger hair loss. Meanwhile have lots of fruits and vegetables. Based on blood test results you may have treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
