Thanks for the enquiry posted,
To address your chief complaint, it is mentioned that you are suffering from a postpartum abnormal
uterine bleeding while keeping NEXPLANON (Inserted in arm containing etonogestrel). There are several causes may induce abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) including hormonal reasons, ovarian diseases, uterine fibroids, polyps, adenomyosis (endometrium embedded in uterine muscle),
endometriosis (tissue embedded in uterus wall), very rarely in your case cancers, coagulation disorders, infections, etc.
According to the instructions posted by you, it is likely nexplanon have caused
menorrhagia (unusual bleeding) in your case, however, to rule out other reasons you are recommended to do tests following:
1. Routine urinalysis and culture, Blood routine tests, Thyroid tests, etc.
2. Pap smear.
3. You may demand Sonography,
hysteroscopy and biopsy with
dilation and curettage after visualizing cervix, bimanual and rectovaginal exams performed by your gynecologist.
In case of persistent, uncontrolled menorrhagia due to your NEXPLANON, you may demand removal the implant from your arm and using a substitution method for pregnancy prevention.
Hope you find my recommendations useful,
Regards
